We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lead Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java EE, web development, and database technologies, along with a passion for leading development and being part of a development team. As a developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex web-based applications while ensuring performance, scalability, and security.

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • design, development, and implementation of web applications using Java EE 1.8, JSP, Struts, and JavaScript.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for DB2 and Oracle databases.
  • Develop and maintain SOAP and REST web services for seamless integration with external systems.
  • Manage and troubleshoot applications on WebSphere application server.
  • Ensure application performance, scalability, and security best practices are followed.
  • Conduct code reviews, maintain coding standards, and ensure the delivery of robust software solutions.

 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Strong experience with Java EE 1.8, JSP, and Struts.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and front-end web technologies.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience with DB2 and Oracle databases.
  • Familiarity with basic Unix Shell scripting for automation and system management.
  • Expertise in developing and consuming SOAP and REST web services.
  • Hands-on experience with WebSphere application server
  • Excellent communication skills to varying audiences including executive leadership and non-technical resources.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture and development.
  • Familiarity with Kafka for messaging and stream processing.
  • Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Dynatrace and Splunk.
  • Experience with JDK 17 and modern Java development practices
