Our leading medical client is hiring a .NET/AZURE Technical Lead to join their team on a 6 month, hybrid term in Ottawa.
The Technical Architect / Lead will provide architectural and technical leadership while mentoring technical professionals across multiple domains. This role requires close collaboration with senior leadership, development of key architectural frameworks, and hands-on support to mature internal technical capabilities, processes, and delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities
Provide architectural and technical leadership across BT initiatives.
Lead and guide technical team members to support solution delivery and effectiveness.
Engage with business stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment of technical solutions with organizational needs.
Mentor and coach technical personnel across core domains, including:
Release & Build Management – Support the Release Manager in defining build/release processes for internal applications.
Product & DevOps – Guide Product and DevOps staff in roadmap creation, release planning, and operational execution (e.g., NRP).
Integration – Mentor the Integration Architect in defining frameworks, policies, best practices, and reusable assets.
Solution Architecture – Coach developers on architectural best practices and ensure reusable frameworks, policies, and standards are in place.
Development & QA – Provide guidance to developers and QA staff to strengthen practices, encourage reuse of libraries and assets, and drive quality outcomes.

Microsoft Azure Certification(s)
Microsoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture certification
Experience
10+ years of relevant work experience in software design, development, and architecture.
Strong leadership experience directing development/design teams and mentoring technical staff.
Extensive Azure expertise, including:
Azure Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid, and API Management.
Azure Data Factory pipelines for ETL/ELT.
Infrastructure-as-Code with ARM templates, Bicep, or Terraform.
Deep knowledge of the Azure Well-Architected Framework (security, reliability, performance, cost optimization, operational excellence).
Experience designing and implementing test plans, test strategies, and test environments.
Strong background in observability (Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics).
Skilled in system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with standard integration technologies (SOAP, REST, GraphQL, JSON, SAML, AMQP, MQTT).
Knowledge of GDPR, PIPEDA, and SOC 2 standards.
Strong communication skills – able to explain technical trade-offs to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to create clear architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and integration specifications.
Familiarity with ITIL, ISO standards, and best practices.
Minimum 5 years in a leadership role overseeing technical resources.
Proven ability to mentor junior roles and guide technical teams.
Demonstrated experience providing clear direction to development teams, contractors, and vendors to drive initiatives forward.
