We are seeking a highly skilled Information Technology Specialist to join our client's Technology team in utilities / infrastructure services industry. The role focuses on maintaining, enhancing, and safeguarding IT infrastructure across a multi-office network. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills to ensure secure and efficient technology operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain user devices, network infrastructure, and enterprise systems.

  • Manage system updates, security patches, and certificates.

  • Provide advanced desk-side and remote technical support.

  • Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Hyper-V, and virtualization platforms.

  • Oversee Microsoft 365, Exchange, and SharePoint environments.

  • Manage IT asset lifecycle, VoIP systems, and office equipment.

  • Monitor IT system performance, review alerts/logs, and resolve issues.

  • Document technical procedures and support IT-related projects.

  • Provide on-call rotational support and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in an enterprise IT environment with expertise in system administration, networking, and information security.

  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls (Palo Alto), HP switches, SAN storage, Windows Server, and Windows 11.

  • Experience with Hyper-V, Microsoft 365, Exchange, SharePoint, and VoIP/contact center technologies.

  • Excellent communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.

  • Post-secondary education in IT/Computer Science or related field; relevant certifications (Microsoft, Palo Alto, ITIL, etc.) are an asset.

  • Supervisory or team lead experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid role (2 days on-site in Guelph).

  • Occasional travel between offices/vendor sites.

  • Rotational on-call support.
