QA Tester (Hybrid)
Work Model & Location: Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Mississauga, On
Contract Term: 5 months to start, with possible extension

Our client in Mississauga is seeking a QA Tester to support upcoming major releases. This role focuses on requirement extraction, QA/UAT planning, manual test execution, and working closely with business owners and development teams to ensure quality delivery.
The QA Tester will create and execute test cases, prepare test data, document results, and track issues using DevOps tools. While primarily a manual testing role, there is potential for automated testing.
Qualifications:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Basic understanding of business Analysis and QA background and Knowledge of requirements gathering techniques (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys).
• Solid understanding of Privacy legislative requirement
• Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Excel, Visio, Scripting, Java QA tools.
• Hands-on experience with writing test cases and executing manual tests.
• Using DevOps tools for bug tracking and reporting
• Experience in QA work and system documentation.
• Exposure to Agile or Waterfall methodologies is a plus.
• Other QA automation and load testing tool expertise is a plus
Duties:
1. Extract requirement for the school preference and major release Epics from Dev Ops and confirms with business owners
1. create the QA stories, test cases, test data and test evaluation criteria.
2. Create the UAT stories, test cases, test data and test evaluation criteria
3. This is mainly a manual process with a possibility for automated testing.
2. Detail processes
o Create QA user stores
o Create test cases
o Create test data for testing
Both the happy path and invalid paths
o Review the testing process mapping and procedures with the operating department
o Record the data involves and any data validation requirements
o Perform the QA test
developed scripts if needed for automated testing
o Record the results
o Review the result with the business owners.
o Update DevOps
o Submit bug fix request in DevOps
o follow-up on the fixes and re-test
o Submit results to stakeholder for approval
