The Role 

 

As part of the Group Treasury Data Office team, the incumbent will perform data management duties as outlined by the Bank’s Data Management Policy and regulatory data requirements. This will include ensuring adherence with the Basel 239 - RDARR, internal policies, Payments Canada, Bank of Canada and all other governing regulations for Structural Interest Rate Risk (SIRR) and Liquidity Risk Data Domains. Our portfolio includes SIRR, Balance Sheet Management (BSM), Cash Management, Liquidity, Funds Transfer Pricing, US Treasury, London, EU and Asia Treasury and other areas as needed. This is an important role that requires a blend of data analytics skills, information system experience, business knowledge, and experience with high profile regulatory requirements. 


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:

 

  • Support the Senior Manager on strategic data and innovation initiatives, presentations, and analysis with executive level visibility for the Treasury Management team.
  • Keeps up to date SIRR and BSM Data governance Model, including standards and process documents.
  • Automate existing processes and optimize for efficiency and data quality.
  • Assist and/or manage data management changes being rolled out by the Data Office and be the key person/SME.
  • Ensure Domain’s Data Management process and standards are aligned with the Basel 239- RDARR principles, Bank’s Data Management Policy and the data strategy.
  • Manages the Data Quality and Issue Management process and assists in the automation and implementation of new rules and reporting dashboards for Balance Sheet Management, Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP), SIRR and Hedging requirements. 
  • Managing the cloud migration for GT Data more specially BSM and SIRR. 
  • Manages and enhances Data Lineage to ensure it reflects the most updated code base for SIRR and Liquidity as well as meets the standards and guideline for RDARR and Bank policy.
  • Use analytical skills to conduct Risk Process Assessment and Improvement, Data Process Design & Process Excellence
  • Acts as an escalation point for SIRR and/or Liquidity reporting issues globally.
  • Advises technology and business on changes required to meet regulatory developments
  • Works in close collaboration with the Enterprise Data Office team on data quality management and with our IT partners on Data Lineage management 
  • Responds to regulatory requests for information from internal audit, RDARR office and Data Office for their compliance assessments.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management Policies and RDARR Requirements
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and experience at owing a process.
  • Experience in automation of processes and understands latest technology in the space
  • Understanding of Bank’s systems i.e. ALM6, UC, GC. 
  • Experience working within Data Management and Operations 
  • Demonstrated ability to provide evidence to 2nd and 3rd line. 
  • Understanding or experience with Treasury 
  • Detail orientated. Data analytics. Ability to distill information for executives.
  • Experience with PowerBI and Tableau.
