Purpose

 

Contributes to the overall success of International Banking Internal Control unit by ensuring specific goals, plans, and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

  • Provide subject matter expertise to International Banking (IB) business units in identifying and mitigating Compliance and Non-Financial Risks. Build trusted advisory relationships through ongoing engagement with business lines, lines of defense, and country control teams.
  • Support the Director, Compliance and Conduct Risk in executing internal control initiatives and risk assessments aligned with Compliance and Non-Financial Risk programs. Leverage scalable processes and technology solutions consistent with Bank models and adaptable across IB jurisdictions.
  • Oversee and monitor Compliance and Non-Financial Risk developments impacting IB jurisdictions. Liaise with Second Line and local Internal Control teams to ensure timely delivery of action plans and commitments.
  • Develop and deliver executive-level reports, presentations, and metrics. Prepare materials for Core Risk Committees, including KPIs and dashboards, to effectively communicate strategy and progress.
  • Coordinate with IB business units to support the identification of self-identified issues and execution of remediation efforts. Provide guidance on internal control breakdowns and escalate to management as needed.
  • Provide expert advice on the implementation of the Bank’s global policies and operating procedures within IB jurisdictions, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and ethical conduct standards.
  • Promote a risk-aware culture by reinforcing efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices, adhering to required standards and processes

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  • MBA or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in Global Risk Management / Compliance / Audit would be an asset.
  • +7 years of Business Line Risk management work experience.
  • Superior written/verbal communication and interpersonal skills. The candidate should be fully bilingual (Spanish).
  • Expert knowledge in ability to communicate strategy and status of initiatives to executives by producing high quality presentations and materials to be used in meetings and committees.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically think, influence and communicate throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem-solving techniques.
  • Strong ability to balance competing/ conflicting goals of various stakeholders, requiring a mature, diplomatic approach and highly developed negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrate flexibility and comfort in dealing with change/ambiguity.
