Our client in the education sector is hiring for a Librarian. This position is responsible for overseeing library operations, supporting staff and students with access to resources, and fostering a positive learning and reading environment. The role includes managing collections, assisting with research needs, and coordinating library activities.

  • Location and work model: Midtown Toronto, ON – Fully on-site

  • Schedule/hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday

  • Contract duration: 1-month contract with potential for extension

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day library services to students and staff, ensuring resources are accessible and organized

  • Manage and maintain the library collection, including print and digital resources

  • Support research and information requests from students and staff

  • Promote library programs and services through displays, events, or communications

  • Introduce new users to library resources and systems

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure materials are properly catalogued

  • Collaborate with school staff to identify and provide relevant resources for educational programs

  • Ensure a welcoming and supportive environment for all library users

  • Perform other related duties as required

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, with prior experience in a library or resource centre

  • Familiarity with library cataloguing systems and resource management tools

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and work collaboratively with a diverse community

  • Proficiency with digital tools and online resources

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
