This is a part-time temporary (up to 3 years) contract opportunity.

Role
As a Medical Consultant for Alberta Primary and Preventative Health Services, you will provide expert medical advice and recommendations on a wide range of complex clinical, operational and policy issues related specifically to physician billing by drawing on your own extensive clinical experience with individual and team-based patient care.
Core responsibilities include reviewing claims to ensure compliance with legislation and the Schedule of Medical Benefits, providing interpretation of medical practice in compliance with legislation and providing expertise on practitioner practice patterns.
Qualifications
Your background includes extensive medical expertise demonstrated at the local, provincial and regional levels with a broad understanding of Alberta’s health system. You have experience in clinical medicine and are known for your superior analytical and communication skills. Your knowledge of emerging clinical and medical issues and strategies will be key to your success in this role. A degree in medicine and eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta are required.
Salary
$4,699.47 - $6,683.69 bi-weekly. ($122,656 - $174,444 annually)
The successful candidate will be eligible to either participate in pension or receive remuneration in lieu of participating in the pension plan.
