Role Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineer to maintain and continuously improve our cybersecurity posture in a cloud-first environment. This role will also focus on leading and supporting cybersecurity, infrastructure, network, and endpoint initiatives. You will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls that protect our systems, data, and users.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and manage security controls across our cloud environments, networks, endpoints, email systems and IAM, ensuring alignment with industry best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Lead threat modeling, risk assessments, and architecture reviews for existing and new systems.

  • Support secure network and firewall operations, including segmentation, VPNs, and perimeter defenses.

  • Evaluate emerging technologies, conduct gap assessments, and recommend security enhancements.

  • Support  threat detection and response efforts across cloud, network, and endpoint environments using tools such as Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, and other EDR/SIEM platforms.

  • Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures for cloud and on-premises infrastructure.

  • Oversee identity and access management (IAM) strategies, including role-based access control (RBAC), MFA, SSO and conditional access policies.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior security team members and cross-functional peers through knowledge sharing and support.

  • Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies, and proactively recommend improvements to the security posture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong focus on cloud security.

  • Deep expertise in securing Microsoft Azure environments (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud).

  • Working knowledge of GCP and AWS security services and configurations.

  • Strong understanding of network security principles, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and segmentation.

  • Experience with endpoint protection platforms and EDR tools.

  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and implementation.

  • Familiarity with data loss prevention (DLP) and encryption technologies.

  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, CIS, and MITRE ATT&CK.

  • Relevant certifications such as AZ-500, CISSP, CCSP, or GIAC Cloud Security are highly desirable.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $98,000 - $118,000.

The actual salary offered will take into consideration a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the individual’s skill, experience, education and training, the market compensation of the role, and the consideration to internal equity.
