Sr. Analyst Business Development 

 

Who we're looking for: 

The Senior Analyst will work with the Business Operations team and Media Business leaders to develop and implement plans and priorities that help Rogers Sports & Media meet its short and long-term strategic objectives. This dynamic role allows you to combine your analytical expertise and passion for Sports & Media to help drive results across our various businesses. While the work will be varied, this role will provide strategic analysis of our varied partnerships, review/analyze data and provide insight regarding our streaming strategy and provide strategic market analysis with regards to various media competitors and partners. The Analyst will support decision-making through targeted analysis and will help drive project execution where required. The work environment will be heavily team-based, requiring the individual to work collaboratively across the business.

 

What you'll do: 

 

Problem Solving & Insight:

  • Provide data analysis, deliver insight and well-supported conclusions to help resolve business questions and improve our business performance
  • Provide strategic analysis of partnerships
  • Review data, analyze and provide insight regarding streaming strategy and help to support our customer experience while helping to achieve internal targets
  • Provide strategic market analysis with regards to various media competitors and partners
  • Shape the analysis and outline key steps required to resolve specific issues
  • Develop actionable recommendations for key business decisions and/or transactions
  • Build accurate financial and analytical models and synthesize insight from this analysis

 

Communications:

  • Communicate effectively with clients and teams in various mediums and situations
  • Effectively communicate findings, both orally and in writing – including presenting analysis and insights to internal leadership teams
  • Add constructively to debate and dialogue with facts and reason; challenge assumptions and inputs
  • Periodically facilitate working sessions with extended team

 

Project Management: 

  • Lead projects and/or specific work-steams
  • Develop work-plans to coordinate cross-team activities
  • Implement agreed upon solutions, managing stakeholders and project activities to completion

 

What you bring: 

  • Completion of a Bachelor of Commerce or other business-related degree (e.g. Economics)
  • Secondary degree/diploma/certification or a Master’s degree an asset
  • 1 to 3+ years work experience in a Strategy or similar Business Development role
  • Knowledge of the Media industry is highly preferred
  • Self starter with strong curiosity and adaptability, thriving in both collaborative and independent work environments.
  • Proven analytical, financial modeling and problem solving skills
  • Ability to organize and present pertinent information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong time management capabilities, with the ability to perform multiple tasks and objectives
  • Results oriented, comfort with ambiguity and ability to work in a fast paced and evolving environment
  • Advanced Excel for data manipulation & modeling as well as PowerPoint skills
