Our client, a respected non-profit organization in the social services space, is seeking a friendly and highly organized Receptionist & Central Switchboard Operator to join their team on a contract basis. This role is ideal for someone who excels in a fast-paced, client-facing environment and can manage multiple responsibilities with professionalism and care.
Contract Details
- Duration: Approximately August 25, 2025 – November 7, 2025
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
- Summer Hours (in effect until August 29): 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist clients, visitors, and staff in a high-traffic reception area
- Manage meeting room and vehicle bookings, and oversee reception-area cleanliness
- Dispense and track cheques, vouchers, and other items
- Operate the central switchboard: screen and direct incoming calls, report technical issues, and maintain accurate staff contact info
- Assist with courier coordination and general administrative support
Qualifications
- High school diploma plus 1 year of relevant experience (or equivalent combination)
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Professional telephone manner and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment
- Bilingual in English and French preferred
