We are seeking a resourceful and detail-oriented Bilingual Communications Coordinator to support our client working with military families. This role focuses on developing and executing communication strategies that boost organizational visibility, engagement, and impact. You will create compelling content, manage social media, coordinate campaigns, and support events — all while ensuring brand consistency and audience engagement.

This position is a contract role working until March 31st, 2026. This is working in a primarily remote environment, with occasional onsite requirements in Ottawa.
The successful candidate must hold a valid enhanced reliability clearance and be fluent in English and French.
Key Responsibilities
Develop engaging marketing and communications materials (tools, presentations, promotional pieces, fact sheets, infographics, and advertisements) in both written and visual formats.
Draft and edit content for newsletters, websites, social media, presentations, and reports.
Manage and monitor social media accounts, track engagement metrics, and recommend improvements.
Coordinate communication initiatives and event promotion.
Maintain brand consistency and ensure adherence to social media SOPs.
Plan and execute marketing and communications plans from needs assessment through to distribution and evaluation.
Adapt and review existing materials for family-facing purposes (e.g., FAQs).
Promote communications best practices to enhance member, stakeholder, and employee experiences.
Build and maintain relationships with internal staff and external stakeholders to coordinate marketing and communications activities.
Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for communication processes.
Monitor and analyze communication data, providing recommendations for improvement.
Apply a GBA Plus lens to all communications strategies and outputs.
Required Knowledge & Skills
Experience using tools such as Mailchimp, Hootsuite and Meta Business Suite.
Must hold a valid enhanced reliability clearance.
Familiarity with the Canadian Armed Forces and military family lifestyle (asset).
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills in English and French.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
Experience & Qualifications
1–3 years of experience in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience creating and editing content for multiple platforms.
Experience managing social media accounts and using scheduling/analytics tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite).
Experience with email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp).
Basic graphic design skills using Canva.
Experience in communications planning, campaign execution, and performance measurement.
Experience applying a GBA Plus lens in communications work.
