Purpose

 

As Product Manager, Commercial Cards Portfolio Management on the Commercial Cards team you will play a critical role in leading and driving the Commercial Cards portfolio management initiatives. This includes monitoring the performance of client programs as well as the general portfolio P&L to identify opportunities around cost avoidance, cost savings, growth and improved client margins.

 

This position contributes to the profitability and revenue growth of the Global Transaction Banking portfolio through the establishment of sound financial strategies of the Commercial Cards solutions and therefore maximize market share, enhanced growth opportunities and experience. 

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

    1. Lead the Commercial Cards portfolio to drive growth in revenues and customer satisfaction by:
  • Enhance the competitive advantage of the product by evolving product strategy through revitalization of the existing product, or through launch of new frictionless processes
  • Collaborating with the Technology, Sales, and AML/Risk teams to understand and articulate the product vision, including the customer impacts, business/stakeholder value, system dependencies and technological processes, both internal and external
  • Ensuring products are performing as expected and resolving issues that arise in a timely manner with updates to partners and escalations to management as required
  • Owning the end-to-end process map and ensuring accountable stakeholders are operating to the agreed responsibilities
  • Determining where product gaps may exist with respect to customer needs, competitive offerings, and market trends
  • Understanding the voice of the customer and front-line staff to improve product quality
  • Managing vendor partnership relationships to support product portfolio
  • Providing ad hoc support and subject matter expertise to partners as required
  1. Review financials, key performance indicators, and trends for:
  • Determining key product opportunities and issues by maintaining critical financial lens
  • Working with the pricing and operations teams to drive revenues and implement margin enhancement opportunities
  • Maintaining a high-quality market intelligence program, including the competitive landscape, customer needs, and external stakeholder management
  • Authorizing special pricing requests and RFP opportunities
  • Validate and calculate buyer group rebates, including complex client agreements with manual inputs and high-complexity rebate structures.
  • Analyze rebate trends vs. spend trends, investigate discrepancies, and provide commentary on significant variations.
  • Coordinate rebate approval workflow, including validation, submission to directors, and communication with stakeholders.
    1. Lead the delivery of approved projects:
  • Overseeing the design and implementation of new products features or enhancements
  • Performing in an Agile project setting for digital products, and waterfall as required
  • Overseeing/Preparing business cases from concept to executive approval
  • Strategic engagement and influencing of stakeholders to manage prioritization and change delivery
  • Ensuring requirements are agreed by partners and driven by customer feedback and data
  • Preparing timely status updates, reports, and presentations
  • Keeping the project moving with a sense of urgency by actively participating in the project team, sprint reviews, and driving milestones
  • Operating with curiosity to challenge the status quo to improve the product P&L

 

 

What You'll Bring:

 

  •  Self-starter possessing confidence and initiative; able to cope with changing and evolving priorities while identifying new opportunities
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and strategic negotiating skills
  • Knowledge of payments, industry trends and practices, innovative digital platforms, policies and procedures. Familiarity with the way large market Accounts Payable and Procurement departments operate.
  • Product management expertise to enable the thorough understanding of products/services
  • Knowledge of the Bank's application systems and their relationships within the Bank is an asset
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset
  • University Degree in business, economics, or technology
  • 6+ years of Product Management/Finance experience
