Our banking client is seeking a HR Business Partner (VP) to oversee strategic and operational HR functions, ensuring best-in-class service delivery across the employee lifecycle. This role will lead the development and execution of HR strategies that support business growth, foster a high-performance culture, and align talent priorities with organizational objectives.
The successful candidate will bring deep expertise in HR operations, workforce planning, talent development, and compliance, as well as a proven ability to influence senior leaders and drive meaningful change.
This is a hybrid position, located in Toronto, ON (3-days/week on-site)
Responsibilities
- Oversee all core HR operations, including payroll, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, talent development, succession planning, and policy administration.
- Lead the maintenance and optimization of HR systems, data platforms, and employee records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
- Partner closely with senior leadership to shape HR strategy, provide data-driven insights, and influence people-related decisions.
- Analyze workforce data to identify trends, improve retention, strengthen engagement, and advance diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to business leaders, offering credible guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, and talent management.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
- Manage HR budgets, contracts, and operational projects, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
- Foster a collaborative, customer-focused HR culture, building strong relationships across the organization and promoting continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; CHRP designation preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Proven track record in both strategic HR leadership and hands-on operational management.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and compliance best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high-quality results within deadlines.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and data analysis tools.
