Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment of an Accounting Clerk. This position will support our client's finance team on a part-time, fully remote basis, working 1 day a week for a 6-month contract with potential to expand hours and contract length based on business needs and performance within the role. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong hands-on experience in accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and account reconciliations, who is comfortable using NetSuite and cloud-based financial tools such as Lightyear and Tallie.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring timely, accurate financial data entry and supporting regular finance operations under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Finance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process vendor invoices and employee expense claims using Lightyear, Tallie, and NetSuite
- Assist with accounts receivable tasks, including invoice generation and monitoring payments
- Perform monthly or periodic reconciliations for bank accounts and corporate credit cards
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry into the NetSuite accounting system
- Support preparation and entry of journal entries for month-end closing
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and government reconciliations (e.g., HST, EHT)
- Help maintain accurate documentation and support audit-readiness
- Perform other finance-related administrative duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of proven experience in an AP Technician or similar role
- Solid knowledge of AP, AR, and reconciliation processes
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently
- Proficiency with cloud-based financial tools and Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Working experience with NetSuite
- Comfortable working remotely in a self-directed environment
