Contributes to the overall success of the Global Risk Management (GRM) Finance department ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

The Senior Manager is responsible for preparing all aspects of GRM’s Annual Operating Expense budget, periodic forecast updates and reporting. The Senior Manager works closely with GRM Senior Management, Global Finance, HR and other business partners, in looking for opportunities for process improvements, reporting and analysis efficiencies, and to deliver accurate reports and insights to Executives.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

•Responsible for analyzing financials for GRM risk functions for management reporting purposes

•Leads the maintenance and production of forecasting models and reporting decks used to prepare monthly/quarterly management financial reports to GRM and Business Line stakeholders

•Supports strong financial discipline, with focus on prioritization and efficient use of resources, in support of GRM’s achievement of financial targets, aligned with Strategic targets

•Manage the month-end cut-off processes/deadlines for all GRM Risk functions

•Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge

•Partner with GRM risk function management teams to provide timely support, transparency of information, and insights to support effective decision making and resource allocation

•Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders (e.g. HR, PMOs, Corporate Functions and Business Line Finance teams)

•Provide expense allocation transparency to the Business Lines with detailed information as required

•Communicate information to all necessary internal and external stakeholders, explaining Financial transactions and resolving related issues.

•Developing and executing meaningful employee development plans; motivating and contributing to the development of subordinate/team performance in current job and for future opportunities

•Recognizing direct report development needs and taking an active role in addressing gaps; exhibiting self-awareness around one’s own impact on the team and when necessary, adjusting leadership and motivational qualities to maximize subordinate/team performance

•Facilitating a customer focused culture with strong performance orientation and open communication

•Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

•Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • University degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business
  • CPA/CFA or MBA is an asset
  • 5 to 7 years of financial planning & analysis or expense management experience
  • Analytical mind with a critical thinking, able to juggle multiple competing priorities with attention to detail
  • Self-driven, highly energetic and team player attitude
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to coach a team of financial professionals
  • Experience writing Executive summaries and presentation decks
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (particularly Excel and Power Point); and financial reporting software (Hyperion, OPEX, OBI); working knowledge of Power BI is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills required to deliver multiple requirements with tight deadlines.
