Role Description:
 

The Senior Data Modeler will play a critical role within Enterprise Data & Analytics’ Data Foundations group, contributing to the architecture, design, and governance of data structures enterprise-wide. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Foundations, this position is responsible for establishing best-in-class data modeling practices and partnering closely with analytics, technology, and business stakeholders to ensure data assets are structured for scalability, integrity, and usability. The ideal candidate will bring a strong business mindset, effectively bridging data solutions with strategic business needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement logical and physical data models for the enterprise data platform, and associated data warehouses, data lakes, and operational databases to drive analytics and data as competitive differentiators.

  • Translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable, and business-focused data models and specifications, driving tangible business results and insights.

  • Collaborate with Data Governance, Data Platform, Data Solutions, and Advanced Analytics & Data Science teams to align data models with enterprise standards and industry best practices.

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize conceptual, logical, and physical data models, ensuring comprehensive documentation is produced and maintained.

  • Champion and establish data modeling best practices, and enforce modeling standards (including naming conventions, data definitions, and metadata management).

  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for data architecture and integration approaches that proactively support business opportunities and changing business needs.

  • Review and validate data models developed by other team members. 

  • Provide mentorship, leadership, and guidance to junior data modelers, ensuring a cohesive approach to data modeling that meets QuadReal’s high standards for business value and analytical performance.

  • Translate business requirements and data management needs into high-quality data models and specifications.

  • Support and enable data governance objectives through active stewardship of business and technical glossaries and data lineage.

  • Work closely with Analytics Engineering, Business Intelligence, and Advanced Analytics teams to ensure data models meet analytical and reporting use cases.

  • Participate actively in data quality initiatives, model optimization efforts, and data migration projects.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Design and implement logical and physical data models for enterprise-level platforms, data warehouses, data lakes, and operational databases.

  • Experience in Real Estate and/or Finance sectors is considered a strong asset, offering context for aligning data models with business operations and industry-specific analytics.

  • A strong bias towards value delivery, clear KPIs, and robust performance measurement.

Key Relationships:

  • Senior Manager, Data Foundations (Direct Supervisor): Regular alignment on priorities, deliverables, and strategic initiatives.

  • Data Governance Team: Collaboration to embed standards, metadata, and compliance requirements.

  • Data Platform Team: Close partnership to align data models with infrastructure capabilities and performance optimization.

  • Data Solutions Group (Data Products, Program Excellence, Business Intelligence, Analytics Engineering): Collaboration to ensure models support analytics, reporting, and data product development.

  • Advanced Analytics & Data Science Team: Joint work to ensure model designs support advanced analytics and data science use cases.

  • Business Stakeholders & Subject Matter Experts: Ongoing engagement for requirements gathering, model validation, and ensuring business alignment.

  • IT Architecture & Integration Teams: Collaborative integration of data models with broader enterprise architecture and system landscape.

The Senior Data Modeler is a key contributor to the strategic leverage of data assets, directly supporting the company's mission to deliver strong investment returns and create sustainable environments for generations to come.
