Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer III (Senior) in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
As a Mechanical Engineer III, you will be supporting static equipment on major projects. This individual should have demonstrated experience in designing pressure vessels, distillation columns, and heat exchangers.
A typical day:
Evaluate and comment on engineering work performed internally and by contractors to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Guide engineering contractors in resolving complex technical issues related to static equipment and mechanical systems.
Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering deliverables and design routines.
Review and assess deviations from technical specifications and maintain deviation control logs.
Steward technical queries and information requests from contractors and sub-contractors.
Participate in engineering reviews at contractor and subcontractor locations.
Promote capital efficiency in engineering design and support internal engineering initiatives.
Ensure effective communication across teams and functions, especially across international time zones.
Successful candidates will have:
Professional Engineer registered with APEGA.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
Proven experience as a company representative on major projects.
Prior experience working with EPC contractors and driving engineering execution.
Strong background in designing pressure vessels, distillation columns, and heat exchangers.
Expertise in material selection for static equipment.
Proficiency in heat transfer calculations, fluid flow distribution (liquid and gas), and HVAC sizing.
Ability to manage remote teams and work cross-culturally across global time zones.
Total rewards:
$100.00 - $110.00 hourly
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week
Location: Calgary-based, with remote work possible upon approval
Travel: Minimal travel required, primarily to local sites; one overseas trip may be considered
