Agilus is recruiting for a Instrumentation and Controls Engineer II/III (Intermediate to Senior) in the Oil and Gas Sector in Calgary, Alberta.
We are seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer II (Engineer III level candidates will also be considered) to support a major energy project based in Calgary. The successful candidate will evaluate and comment on discipline engineering work performed both internally and by contractors and sub-contractors, ensuring alignment with project specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. This role facilitates the effective execution of engineering and design routines and promotes clear communication across teams and functions.
A typical day:
Analyze maintenance records to assess instrument failure rates, reliability, and program effectiveness.
Develop and execute process control surveillance programs.
Collect and trend process data using historian databases and visualization tools.
Perform control philosophy and stability reviews, including control logic updates and loop tuning.
Conduct criticality assessments and develop maintenance plans for instrumentation and control systems, considering SIL assessments, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
Successful candidates will have:
P. Eng registered with APEGA.
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
Experience representing a company on major projects.
Strong understanding of Honeywell control and automation system architecture.
Prior EPC experience.
Knowledge of instrumentation and measurement systems including analyzers, emissions monitoring, MARP, custody transfer, and CO2 metering.
Experience in hardware selection and ISA data sheet specification for instruments and control devices.
Proficient in data analysis tools such as SAP, Excel Analytics, and Tableau.
Total rewards:
$90.00 - $100.00 hourly
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours/week.
Contract Length: 1 year, with potential for extension based on project timeline.
Travel: Minimal, with potential for site visits.
