Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst (Intermediate or Senior level) to support digital modernization and improve service delivery. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across UX, IT Operations, and Product Design to shape solutions that meet user needs, accessibility standards, and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and conduct requirements gathering with stakeholders across departments.
Translate business needs into functional and system requirements.
Facilitate workshops, JAD sessions, and user interviews.
Work in Agile environments: create user stories, manage backlogs, define acceptance criteria.
Analyze and improve existing business processes, workflows, and data models.
Document current and future state processes, decision flows, and business rules.
Support risk analysis and recommend design or process improvements.
Develop key business analysis deliverables, including:
Requirements elicitation reports
Gap analyses and scoping documents
Process and data models (e.g., UML, BPMN)
Functional/non-functional specifications
Business cases and capability maps
Qualifications
Mandatory:
Valid Reliability Security Clearance
Located and legally allowed to work in Canada
5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, ideally in government or digital transformation projects
Preferred:
Experience in Agile delivery environments
Familiarity with UX principles and Digital Accessibility (WCAG, ACA compliance)
Experience supporting projects in alignment with Open Government or Canada’s Digital Ambition
Strong communication, facilitation, and documentation skills
Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Visio, Figma, or Lucidchart
