Payroll Administrator - 1 Month Contract, Hybrid
Join a well-established non-profit organization with over 40 years of dedicated service to the community. We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to oversee the biweekly payroll and benefits processing for both salaried and hourly employees.
This role is critical in ensuring compliance with employment legislation, internal policies, and collective agreements, while serving as a key partner to the HR team and external payroll providers.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurately process biweekly payroll and maintain up-to-date employee records, including new hires, terminations, promotions, and compensation adjustments
Review and validate timesheets, leaves, union dues, and other payroll-impacting data using ADP Workforce Now
Conduct regular payroll audits, generate reports, and resolve any discrepancies
Administer deductions such as garnishments, RRSP contributions, LTD premiums, and other withholdings
Act as the primary liaison with payroll vendors to resolve system or data-related issues
Provide payroll-related support to employees and HR, including final pay calculations and retroactive adjustments
Ensure full compliance with relevant payroll legislation, internal policies, and collective agreements
Qualifications:
Diploma or degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3 years of payroll experience, preferably using ADP Workforce Now
PCP certification (or candidates in their final semester will be considered)
Strong working knowledge of current payroll legislation and unionized environments
Exceptional attention to detail, with strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Sage
Ability to manage confidential information, prioritize tasks effectively, and work independently
