Our client, a growing and highly respected financial services firm, is looking for an FP&A Business Partner to join their team. This is an exciting permanent opportunity to be part of one of Canada’s leading organizations during a time of expansion.
Based in Toronto, the role offers a hybrid work model with three days a week in the office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business units to oversee existing product line financials and assess potential new offerings through thorough business case evaluations.
- Develop and refine cost allocation methods across product categories.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic planning for the Product team.
- Prepare executive-level materials for leadership and board meetings.
- Conduct post-launch reviews of new products, analyzing performance against initial projections.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
- Manage monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, and rolling forecasts.
- Support high-impact projects with financial expertise and scenario modeling.
- Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accuracy and streamline close processes.
- Identify opportunities for cost efficiency and drive process improvements.
- Own budget delivery and coordinate the full planning cycle for the Product function.
- Deliver executive-level financial reporting and analysis, including risk and opportunity assessments.
- Lead or support the implementation of new financial processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and support evolving business priorities.
Qualifications & Skills:
- CPA designation, MBA or equivalent background in financial education is required.
- Authorized to work in a full-time role in Canada.
- Proven experience in financial modeling and business case development.
- Over 7 years of hands-on experience with budgeting, forecasting, and interpreting financial results.
- Highly proficient in Excel, particularly in building dynamic models and analytical tools.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities with a knack for synthesizing complex information.
- Clear and persuasive communicator, both in writing and in person.
- Confident engaging with executive leadership and tailoring insights to suit strategic-level discussions.
