Working with the Director responsible for learning, is responsible for the learning and development aspects of audit practice management. Sets strategic initiatives that propels the Corporate Audit practice forward. Ensures BMO's practices are up-to-date, meet professional practices and industry expectations and continually evolve. Ensures initiatives and solutions, methodologies, programs and processes are consistently and effectively implemented across the business/groups. Develops professional practices to scale and maturity for various roles through defined practice management tools and techniques, standards and the adoption of the associated behaviours. Develops and oversees Corporate Audit’s Strategic People Priorities to ensure that Corporate Audit has the right resources to achieve its current annual plan and be positioned for the future. Conducts training, coaching, facilitation and applies change management expertise to drive business results. Key resource providing advice to business/group teams on risk, governance and internal controls.

  • Enhances competency Self-Assessment and Development plans view of skills and knowledge.

  • Recommends and makes modifications to division training to address real time and evolving needs identified through self-assessments, QA reviews, emerging trends and regulatory expectations.

  • Provides information in support of regulatory examinations, inspections and reviews.

  • Together with the PPC Director responsible for learning, organize, develop and deliver as needed, the Corporate Audit Orientation and MSI Orientation.

  • Ensure Certifications and memberships are current including IIA and NASBA.

  • Monitor Training requests.

  • Assist in development, execution and monitoring of action plans arising from the Winning Culture Survey.

  • Maintaining the Learning & Develop components of the PPC SharePoint site.

  • Coordinate training communications

  • Key resource providing advice to business/group teams on risk, governance and internal controls.

  • Meets regularly with key stakeholders to provide insights into changes and their impact on methodology and/or quality assurance.

  • Provides advice to leaders on risk, governance and controls.

  • Influences to achieve strategic objectives.

  • Manages resources and leads the execution of strategic initiatives to deliver on business and financial goals.

  • Helps determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.

  • Makes recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.

  • Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal stakeholders including colleagues across Corporate Audit.

  • Ensures alignment amongst stakeholders.

  • Provides proactive leadership and direction to team members as may be required.

  • Provides feedback supporting or completing performance assessments.

  • Develops Data Analytics curriculum for Corporate Audit.

  • Provides insights based on knowledge and data outcomes.

  • Leads change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.

  • Develop communications that are clear and concise.

  • Consistently communicate to influence a solid risk and control culture.

  • Leads the execution of operational programs; assesses and adapts as needed to ensure quality of execution.

  • Where appropriate, hires and onboards new team members.

  • Continues to develop a highly engaged team with specialized expertise.

  • Ensures work of subordinates is well executed in accordance with Audit’s standards and that their judgement is sound, well documented and repeatable.

  • Manages regular performance and performance assessment of all staff for which they are responsible.

  • Recognizes the appropriate value of timing of rewards.

  • Employs systems (e.g. tracking reports, rolling averages, etc.) to manage information.

  • Provides advice and guidance on Corporate Audit methodology and processes.

  • Provides advice and guidance on use of Audit-specific tools and technology, to Corporate Audit team members.

  • Maintains working knowledge of the industry, regulatory, broad economic environment, and internal environment, as to the development of new strategies and plans, opportunities and risk, to obtain an understanding of the control environment.

  • Integrates information from multiple sources, conducts analysis, prepares supporting information for Corporate Audit’s Annual Plan and Board Reporting Identifies potential themes in deficiencies identified across groups and/or over time.

  • Provides information in support of regulatory examinations, inspections and reviews.

  • Identifies and evaluates the impact of new and emerging technology and technology risk on the organization’s processes and control environment.

  • Identifies potential data analytics to be included in their audit and advisory engagements to improve quality and efficiencies.

  • Influences to achieve desired control environment.

  • Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provides input into the strategic direction of Audit practice including key elements of a “strong” audit practice, the strategic approach to audits for the assigned business/corporate group and strategy for functioning of the centre of competency in which the role has responsibility.

  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide practice management insights and recommendations; includes recommendations across a wide range of opportunities to drive business results.

  • Develops and delivers training modules on Corporate Audit methodology, processes, workflow tools or technology.

  • Provides input into Corporate Audit processes identifying opportunities to simplify.

  • Prepares clear, concise communications to audit teams.

  • Executes work to deliver timely, accurate and efficient service.

  • Advances the overall functioning of the Audit group ensuring that practices and methodology applications are maintained at the high-quality level expected of a strong internal audit practice.

  • Maintains the independence of the audit practice and its personnel.

  • Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level and serves as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.

  • Applies expertise and thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.

  • Implements changes in response to shifting trends.

  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Professional designations or business designation such as CIA, CPA-Audit.

  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.

  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Analytical and problem solving skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Influence skills - In-depth / Expert.

  • Collaboration & team skills; with a focus on cross-group collaboration - In-depth / Expert.

  • Able to manage ambiguity.

$94,600.00 - $176,000.00

Ce qui précède représente la fourchette et le type de rémunération de BMO Groupe financier.

Les salaires varieront en fonction de facteurs comme l’emplacement, les compétences, l’expérience, les études et les qualifications pour le poste et pourront inclure une structure de commissions. Les salaires pour les postes à temps partiel seront calculés au prorata du nombre d’heures travaillées régulièrement. Pour les rôles à commission, le salaire susmentionné représente la cible de BMO Groupe financier pour la première année au poste.
