Our leading energy client is looking for a Workday Payroll Analyst to join their team. This role will be primarily onsite - 4 days a week at their Toronto office.
As a Workday Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting and optimizing the global ERP platform to align with evolving business objectives. Your primary focus will be providing technical and functional expertise across various Workday modules, particularly Human Capital Management (HCM), Payroll, Talent, Performance, and related services. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders, the Workday team, and external partners to assess business needs, design solutions, ensure system integrity, and support operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Support and manage Workday ERP system, primarily focusing on HCM modules: Benefits, Advanced Compensation, Absence, Time Tracking, Recruiting, Talent, Performance, Succession, and Payroll.
Provide technical and functional support for additional Workday modules such as Finance and Strategic Sourcing.
Collaborate with functional business leads, superusers, and vendors to ensure solutions align with business requirements and organizational goals.
Assist in planning, designing, developing, and deploying Workday solutions—including custom reports, dashboards, KPIs, discovery boards, and workbooks.
Lead and document business requirements gathering to support enhancements, upgrades, and new functionality.
Provide technical leadership on Workday-related projects, working closely with vendors and implementation teams.
Ensure adherence to IT standards throughout the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
Continuously seek opportunities for process improvements and enhanced reporting capabilities.
Support the Manager, Enterprise Applications in overseeing vendor deliverables and service quality in accordance with SLAs.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, testing, and support procedures.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience implementing and supporting Workday, particularly HR and Payroll modules (certifications required).
Experience with Finance and Strategic Sourcing modules and system integrations is an asset.
At least 5 years of experience supporting enterprise applications, with involvement in solution design, configuration, integrations, and end-user support.
Deep understanding of HR principles and payroll processes.
Expertise in Workday reporting, including custom dashboards, worklets, and KPIs.
Experience working with Microsoft enterprise tools and development frameworks.
Familiarity with Waterfall, Agile, and Scrum methodologies, as well as ITIL best practices.
Experience in SaaS/cloud-based solutions and cloud development tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Confident presenter with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
