Senior Manager, Pricing and Portfolio Management - Retail Deposits (Toronto, ON)

 

Contributes to the overall success of Retail Deposits in Canada, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives.  Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Lead the weekly Pricing meeting providing key insights on competitor offers, pricing recommendations and exception trends.
  • Manage the analysis and interpretation of the portfolio, market trends, and competitive activity to develop the pricing recommendation of the Retail Deposits and Advisor Deposit Services business.
  • Execute the approved pricing changes and pricing exceptions across the Retail products and Advisor Deposit Services in a timely manner to ensure no negative customer experiences, adverse impact on our P&L, or regulatory breaches.
  • Manage the Exception Pricing Team, which provide exception pricing for Canadian Retail Bank, Private Banking, and Advisor Deposit Services channels
  • Lead projects on Pricing Optimization involving third party experts and the Canadian Bank Analytics teams.
  • Coordinate pricing changes within the Retail and ADS channels with our partners in the acquisition, Decision Sciences, IT, and Digital Factory.
  • Promote a culture of partnership by working with the frontline in providing prompt and professional advice.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve our exception policy and increase operational efficiency by enhancing processes and tools.
  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Creates an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
  • Builds a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in order to achieve business objectives
  • High degree of financial knowledge and modeling as required to meet deadlines
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Good understanding/experience in GIC market, products and services and processes
  • Familiarity with financial modelling and technical skills
  • Degree (business/marketing related), or product management/relevant field experience

Working Conditions
