Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Overview:
A not-for-profit regulatory organization focused on environmental sustainability and compliance is seeking a Financial Accountant for a full-time contract position. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting impactful financial operations within a mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Process accounts payable, employee reimbursements, and recurring credit card transactions
Support accounts receivable functions including collections and deposits
Manage vendor setup and electronic fund documentation
Assist with month-end and year-end close, including general ledger reconciliations, fixed assets, and audit support
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and supporting schedules
Support daily cash management, liquidity planning, and banking compliance
Recommend updates to internal financial policies and procedures
Act as a backup for invoicing systems and reconciliation between CRM and ERP platforms
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business or Accounting (or equivalent experience)
Actively pursuing a CPA designation (preferred)
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, advanced formulas) and MS Office
Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Experience in not-for-profit or regulatory environments is an asset
