Business group: Canadian Digital Banking Engineering - Digital Payments – Provide microservices to mobile and web; deal with day-to-day payments, EMTs, bill payments, wallet provisioning

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Quickly analyze the available data and find the root cause of the problem during production issues.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 4+ years of experience in software development and supporting complex large-scale customer facing platforms
  • 4+ years of experience as a Java developer with a preference for Java 8/Spring, web-based information technology principles, and system integration methodologies and standards.
  • 4+ years of experience in building public and internal REST APIs
  • Strong experience with APM tools, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, etc. – 2 recent projects
  • Strong experience using Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Launch Darkly, etc. – 2 recent projects
  • Nice-To-Have Skills: FI / Digital banking experience is preferred but not required
  • Nice-To-Have Skills: Well-rounded knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt your experience to new and evolving environments
  • Nice-To-Have Skills: Knowledge of a variety of frameworks (server side, browser side, desktop etc.) as well as high aptitude for diving in and picking up new things
  • Soft Skills Required: Excellent English verbal and written communication skills are essential
  • Soft Skills Required: Excellent communication skills including ability to distil technical details into simple terms; ability to influence decision making across stakeholders
  • Soft Skills Required: Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex initiatives

  • Soft Skills Required: The role requires leadership skills, hands-on technical experience, and a can-do approach towards environment automation / management and continuous improvement for efficiency and cost effectiveness

  • Soft Skills Required: Must be flexible to adapt to a dynamic environment, make quick and sound decisions under pressure
  • Soft Skills Required: Strong organizational skills, excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Education: Bachelors or equivalent in computer science or related field is preferred
