As part of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, the Senior Manager, Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), supports overall financial planning and forecasting processes for the Bank and plays a key role in establishing financial and strategic targets for business lines, corporate functions, and the overall Bank. The individual contributes to the Bank’s performance by managing a high-performing team providing financial analysis and recommendations to business lines, corporate functions, executive management and the Board.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Profit Planning & Quarterly forecasting: Support the Bank’s annual profit plan and quarterly forecasts, including: (1) analysis of the all-Bank plan, (2) generation of insightful commentary and presentation material for executive management, (3) coordinating all-Bank assumptions and timelines including working with Economics and Group Treasury to determine the forecast assumptions (e.g. interest rates and FX), (4) collaboration with Business Line and corporate function partners to problem solve challenges, create standardized processes and materials, and obtain an in-depth understanding of key business line assumptions
  • Develop presentation materials for Executive Management and Board of Directors, simplifying complex financial concepts and issues into visual representations, following presentation design best practices
  • Support Global FP&A Director and VP in ad-hoc analyses, which require data analytics and financial modeling
  • Play a key role in the implementation of FP&A transformation projects and identify opportunities to leverage technology to improve analytics and reporting. Design, lead, and support enhancements to financial planning and forecasting processes to streamline the process and improve forecast accuracy and reasonability and implement Global best practices
  • Support technology solutions and the Bank’s technology roadmap for automation, driver-based modeling, and scenario modeling
  • Build strong relationships and interact with stakeholders across the forecast and planning process, including FP&A business line teams, corporate functions finance, capital management and GRM to ensure deadlines are met and forecast and planning information is accurate.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Strong analytical skills to identify and evaluate trends and other financial information, and to make recommendations to senior Global Finance leaders
  • Strong communications skills to convey key messages, both verbal and written with a proven track record of building presentation material for a senior executive audience
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Office 365, including advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; experience with Copilot considered an asset
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and citizen-led automation initiatives (e.g. Alteryx) considered an asset
  • Experience with Anaplan, financial transformation initiatives and/or project management considered an asset
  • Sound accounting knowledge to understand accounting performance measurement targets
  • Strong attention to detail in updating and developing financial models, system enhancements and to ensure a consistent quality of financial reporting and ability to multi-task, deliver under tight deadlines and re-prioritize effectively
  • Post-secondary degree in business, finance, accounting
  • CPA accounting designation, CFA and/or MBA considered an asset
  • 5+ years of financial industry experience in a financial analysis capacity
  • Strong understanding of financial planning and forecasting best practices; broad based understanding of the Bank’s business lines, products, and financial processes an asset
