Contributes to the overall success of the Enterprise Privacy Office globally, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted comply with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Supports a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Conducts Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) of new Bank initiatives and provides advice and counsel to Businesses with respect to the privacy program and procedures.
  • Provides support and oversight of PIAs performed by Global Privacy Officers, providing challenge and quality assurance of PIAs performed, prepares letters of certification, and Privacy Impact Assessment document administration.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for technology, data, analytics and AI Privacy Impact Assessments and Advisory Services.
  • Prepares reporting and communication of PIA findings to business units and performs issue tracking on outstanding items by liaising with business lines and project teams.
  • Provides recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness of privacy controls to the Senior Manager.
  • Collaborates with counterparts in Compliance, legal and other control functions to ensure consistency and alignment on best practices across the organization.
  • Supports the tracking and monitoring of control function and internal audit requests of the Enterprise Privacy Office.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Law Degree preferred
  • Privacy certification preferred (CIPT, AIGP etc.)
  • Background in Legal, Consulting, or Compliance preferable
  • Hands on experience in technology, data analytics or AI would be an asset
  • 3-5 years privacy experience preferred
  • Spanish fluency is an asset
