Our established client, a regulatory body in Downtown Toronto, is seeking a Governance Consultant to join their team! This role is starting on a 6 month contract with the chance for extension/potential to become a permanent role. Roles and Responsibilities
-Provide support to the board, council, and various committees in governance processes.
-Support with coordination and implementation of policies, procedures, and initiatives while ensuring compliance.
-Work closely with the Strategy team, senior leadership team, and council and committee members.
-Support with communicating developments across internal teams
-Remain up to date with governance trends in the regulatory space, preparing reports and analysis accordingly
-Oversee creation of documentation of processes for council and committee activities
-Assist with coordination and meeting logistics
-Maintain relationships within the regulatory governance space
-Other related tasks as needed
Qualifications and Skills
-Must have a post-secondary degree or diploma
-Must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a Governance related position supporting boards, councils, and/or committees
-Experience working in a regulatory body or a non-profit/association is strongly preferred
-Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
-Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
-Must be proficient in MS Office and Sharepoint
-Experience using a Governance platform is strongly preferred
-Must have the ability to manage confidential information with a strong sense of discretion
-Must have experience with implementing policies and procedures
