Job Title: Senior Credit Risk Manager (Auto/Subprime Lending)
Location: Toronto or Mississauga, ON (Hybrid – 2-3 days in-office)
Salary Range: $115K–$125K base + 10% bonus + comprehensive benefits

We’re partnering with a national financial services company in growth mode, seeking a Senior Credit Risk Manager with hands-on experience in the auto lending or subprime lending space. This role is critical to driving risk strategies, optimizing credit performance, and supporting the company’s transformation toward modern data platforms and decisioning tools.
You’ll be joining a collaborative team and working closely with senior leadership to shape origination, portfolio, and collections strategies. If you're a strong individual contributor with a data-driven mindset and deep credit modelling experience, this is an exciting opportunity to influence meaningful change.
Key Responsibilities
Credit Strategy & Modelling
Design and implement risk strategies across originations, customer management, and collections
Enhance credit models using statistical methods and machine learning (Python, R, SAS, TensorFlow)
Leverage data tools, including SQL, Databricks, and Power BI, for model deployment and monitoring
Portfolio Optimization
Conduct loss forecasting, scenario analysis, and KPI monitoring (e.g., delinquency, charge-offs)
Lead strategic initiatives to optimize credit performance across auto and merchant portfolios
Assess risk exposure, identify emerging trends, and recommend action plans
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor junior analysts and collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and product teams
Contribute to risk appetite and long-term business planning
Partner with executive leadership to execute change initiatives and modernization efforts
What We're Looking For
7+ years in credit risk, with experience in consumer lending (auto or subprime preferred)
Strong quantitative background with expertise in logistic regression, performance monitoring, and origination strategy
Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, Excel, and ideally Databricks
Proven track record of working independently and owning risk strategy end-to-end
Master’s in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field
