Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with our client in the Broader Public Sector to recruit a
Risk Manager. This opportunity is a
6-month contract (possibility of extension) that can be performed
remotely from anywhere in Canada. This role involves integration environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors into established risk frameworks, while driving effective risk governance and strategic oversight.
Experience working in support of financial institutions in a leadership capacity is required for this position. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement enterprise-wide risk governance standards and frameworks
- Integrate ESG considerations into risk management and appetite frameworks
- Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of top organizational risks
- Provide risk insights and reporting to inform senior leadership and board-level decision-making
- Manage team operations, including capacity planning, recruitment, and workflow management
Qualifications
- 7+ years' experience in risk management, including experience in financial institutions. Leadership experience is required for this role.
- Professional designation (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA) and/or risk certification
- Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management methodologies
- Experience incorporating ESG risks into risk management frameworks is an asset
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional environments
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly
