In partnership with the Customer Insights Data and Analytics teams and our IT partners the Data and Analytics Technology team supports the banks Data and Analytics needs with tooling, projects and IT operational support.  

 

The Cloud Engineer role will be responsible for infrastructure designing, developing, monitoring, and troubleshooting bank wide initiatives support by Data and Analytics Technology. This consists of infrastructure building, integration, process automation, and delivery of new projects.

 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Design, implement and maintain Google cloud infrastructure with IAC tools like Terraform.
  • Implement Google best practices to secure managed services for Data and Analytics workloads like GCS, BigQuery, Vertex AI notebooks, Cloud composer, Dataproc, etc.
  • Develop and maintain automation pipelines to securely build and deploy applications and GCP infrastructure.
  • Create monitoring dashboards and alerts to facilitate operational oversight of the entire platform.
  • Collaborate with various enterprise security and business applications team to define and implement cloud architecture and best practices on GCP.
  • Stay up to date on GCP best practices and recommend improvement to the existing platform to streamline development or address new security concerns.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for resolving critical incidents with the GCP infrastructure or deployed applications.
  • Design, test and implement new technologies and applications like Databricks.


 

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • 3+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Managed Development/Services such as Google Cloud Storage
  • 3+ years of experience in using Infrastructure as Code tooling Like Terraform.
  • 3+ years of experience with development languages (Go, Python, etc)
  • 3+ years of experience with container-based technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • 3+ years of experience in the use of CI/CD Tools
  • Understanding of different database technologies (e.g. CloudSQL, NoSQL, Relational databases)
  • Experience in provisioning, scaling and monitoring Databricks environments is preferred.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle and release process (container-native workflow for job orchestration, Git/GitOps, CI/CD, environments, code repositories).
  • 3+ years of experience with config management tools and Scripting Languages (Ansible, Bash, Groovy)
  • Team player with strong communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Google Cloud associate certification is preferred
  • Able to see tasks through to completion without significant guidance
  • Self-managed and results-oriented with sense of ownership is required
  • A university degree in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Management or relevant.
