The Team

Contributes to the overall success of the Core Banking Engineering globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures

 

Is this role right for you?

  • Analyze and develop technical requirements based on solution documentation.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering and design sessions with multiple stakeholders to extract requirements, and turning them into use cases, user stories, sequence diagrams, etc, whatever is suitable – to meet development and stakeholder needs.
  • Works closely with architects and engineers to ensure a flow of stories are specified, engineered and validated.
  • Raise and maintain JIRA tickets for assigned work packages, keep team informed on progress, blockers and next steps.
  • Participate in outcome-focused requirements discovery sessions, identify relevant contacts within the overall program to align on integration points, impact analysis and timelines.
  • In conjunction with the development team, perform manual tests, develop test data, construct, and execute exploratory, system, regression, migration, back-end, and user acceptance tests.
  • Assist in execute automated test cases and analyze test results.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis of defects with the team and ensure that they act as a catalyst for continuous improvement.
  • Bridge the gap between business and IT, ensuring common understanding and IT/Business alignment of both functional (for business needs) and non-functional requirements (such as reporting, performance, interfaces, and constraints.)
  • Help improve and drive our engineering practices by providing valuable inputs and suggestions as to what works well and what can be done better.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related area.
  • Basic knowledge of BA and QA processes, agile delivery, story mapping processes & story grooming, testing processes, testing methodologies and procedures.
  • Work with multiple software development groups to help them deliver on high-quality products.
  • Possess the ability to work with technology focused peers and work on multiple projects concurrently
  • Basic experience as a QA automation engineer and QA tester.
  • Basic experience with one or more automation testing tools (e.g. Selenium, Robot framework, karate and Cucumber) is an asset.
  • Experience doing deep analysis work in collaborative Agile software development teams
  • Working knowledge of collaboration tools such as Confluence, Jira and Mural.
  • Experience in writing user stories and criteria
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is considered an asset.
  • Strong communication in English (both written/verbal) and presentation skills
  • Outcome-focused approach to work and problem-solving
  • Core Baking Domain Knowledge is  an asset.
