The Role

Senior Business Analyst will need to provide responsive operational and business analysis support to Equity Research Business line and their systems. 

 

The incumbent is responsible for assisting in conducting analysis leading to the definition of requirements, design, testing, project coordination and implementation processes.  The successful candidate will also assist in the resolution of complex business problems for Equity Research Business unit, and other business lines being serviced.  The incumbent will be responsible for participating in projects for new systems or enhancements and working closely with development/infrastructure personnel.  The candidate will work with other technology groups and vendors, assist in providing ongoing support for all users in the business lines supported.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

 

  • Provide responsive operational support (including 24/7 on call on rotation basis) which includes troubleshooting existing and new functionality.
  • Contact the appropriate vendor and/or misc. infrastructure teams for assistance in determining corrective action to be taken as well as participate and manage the activities of the vendor/internal support teams to ensure satisfactory results have been achieved.
  • Assist in resolving complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the system needs of the Equity Research Desk and their internal and external customers.
  • Collaborate with business partners, including senior management, to define business objectives, process, and requirements. 
  • Participate in all phases of the IT System Development Lifecycle (SDLC). Act as a liaison between developers/other technology teams and business team members.
  • Provide timely project status updates to the Project Manager/Senior Management. identifying/reporting project risks as early as possible and proactively mitigating project risks as identified.
  • Be able to manage/run Scrum meetings, sprint planning and related Processes.
  • Assist Senior management/Business Partners in Vendor Relationship Management including but not limited to participation in vendor selection process on new initiatives, help ongoing cost control, reducing vendor-related risks and ensuring service delivery.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

 

  • Experience with application-based projects (understanding of data processing and workflows) is essential.
  • Experience working on projects as a BA or PM in technology.
  • Working knowledge of Agile practices and frameworks - Scrum and Kanban.
  • Equity Research Knowledge will be considered an Asset.
  • 2+ yrs experience in Financial Industry, more specifically in Capital Markets Environment.(Nice to Have)
  • Hands on experience working/supporting SQL/Infrastructure/Networks/Security.
  • Prior experience with Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
