The Role

The Senior Software Engineer Developer will design and develop software features to support regulatory applications for capital market area for the Scotia Bank. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Work in a cross functional Agile team to deliver regulatory and compliance solutions
  • Build real-time message-based micro-service data pipeline on Kubernetes cluster
  • Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-leaner on new technologies and maintain an understanding of the business and technology strategies
  • Provide production support to investigate and remediate issues

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have: 

  • A recognized degree in engineering, computer science, math or related discipline
  • Advanced experience with at least one programming languages: Java, Python
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with messaging technology: Kafka, RabbitMQ, JMS
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with database technology: MS SQL, Oracle, REDIS, Elasticsearch
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with message format:  JSON, XML, AVROS 
  • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
  • Passionate about adapting new technologies to accelerate business value delivery
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
