Scotiabank’s Global Technology Services’ (GTS) Pega Operations is responsible for maintaining the various 24x7 Pega infrastructures used to support our customers.
You will play a critical part in maintaining the various Pega infrastructures, including Microsoft Azure, IBM On-Premises and RedHat Linux Private Cloud. This includes day to day incident management (troubleshooting, identifying root cause, monitor server health) as well as operational support (hotfix installations, application release/change management).
You must be highly flexible in hours of work because of customer-facing and highly available infrastructure needs. There will be rotational shifts covering late afternoon, evenings or overnight, including weekends and statutory/bank holidays.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
• You have strong communication skills (verbal/written) in English.
• You have at least 2+ years of hands-on technical working experience as a Pega Administrator in an Azure cloud environment.
• You have at least 5+ years of hands-on technical working experience in supporting Pega clients through maintaining different Pega infrastructures, application deployment, development cycle, and release/change management.
• You have at least 2+ years of hands-on working knowledge in the use of monitoring tools like Pega Diagnostic Cloud (PDC) and/or Splunk and/or Dynatrace.
• You have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in supporting / migrating / upgrading in Pega Framework & Pega Customer Process Manager (CPM) with some or all of the following middleware technologies (Websphere; JBoss; Tomcat; WebLogic) & operating systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux [RHEL] & UNIX [AIX preferably]).
• You also have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in deploying cloud environment instances with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) on Microsoft Azure through the CI/CD pipeline.
• You have at least 3+ years of hands-on technical working experience in operational support for software delivery management tools such as Atlassian’s suite of products (Jira, BitBucket, Confluence).
• You can demonstrate very good proficiency in the use of 1 or more of the following scripting languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell or Java).
• You can demonstrate an excellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills to resolve problems quickly and effectively.
• You are highly creative in identifying and researching technical solutions. You can take abstract concepts and apply them to formulate solutions to resolve business problems.
• You can demonstrate basic technical familiarity with any of the following relational databases (DB2, MS SQL Server) is an asset.
• You have a post-secondary education in Computer Science or in a related field. A Pega CSSA (Certified Senior System Architect) is preferred.
