The Senior Manager will be responsible for representing Scotia iTRADE and leading key strategic initiatives.  This role requires a strategic thinker with a passion for driving change, experience in Digital and Technology, and knowledge of direct investing space to deliver on iTRADE’s growth strategy. 

 

The incumbent will work in a fast-paced, agile environment, managing multiple initiatives of varying complexity with minimal supervision.  Collaboration with cross-departmental stakeholders from Scotia iTRADE and other areas of Scotiabank’s Wealth and Retail Banking is essential for success.

 

Major Accountabilities

  1. Leading all aspects of project delivery including project management, planning, business case writing, execution with internal and external partners.
  2. Provide proactive leadership on key projects aimed at increasing revenue, reducing expenses, enhancing business efficiency, and improving the client experience.
  3. Prioritize strategic levers and value streams based on cost/benefit analysis, competitive landscape and industry trends.
  4. Influence and negotiate with project participants, senior management and all other stakeholders to secure alignment and maintain support for project success.
  5. Provide senior leadership with updates on project status, key metrics, issues, and risks.
  6. Anticipate and mitigate risks during project conception, execution or stakeholder engagement.
  7. Coach others on business transformation, project management and process improvement methodologies and tools.
  8. Foster a positive team environment and facilitate open and honest communication.

 

Education/Work Experience/Designations

 

  • Experience leading or participating in large-scale projects, preferably in Wealth Management or Digital channels.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or demonstrated competency in delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills for prioritizing projects and collaborating with team members.
  • Product Owner experience in Digital and/or Technology with measurable business benefits.
  • Comfortable in working across the organization with existing and new partners and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including ability to create and present to all organizational levels.
  • Proven performance record and trusted professional credibility.

  • Exercise a high degree of independent judgment on large, complex projects and initiatives spanning numerous functional areas.
  • Lead through both direct and indirect supervision in a fast-paced, demanding, and sometimes high stress environment, requiring on-the-spot decisions and tangible results.


Working Conditions
