Our consulting client is supporting one of Canada’s top-tier financial institutions with a multiyear digital transformation project focused on migrating complex, on-premises .NET applications to the cloud (AWS and Azure). This is a high-impact role requiring an experienced Senior Solution Architect who brings both technical depth and strategic foresight to architect, design, and guide this large-scale migration.
This contract offers up to 40 hours per week, is available for immediate start and has an initial end date of October 31, 2025. There is a high possibility of contract extension. 2-3 days of on-site work at the client's office in Toronto is required. Candidates must be elligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Lead solution architecture design and execution for the cloud migration of enterprise-grade .NET applications
Work closely with cross-functional teams to define and implement foundational cloud architecture frameworks
Produce high-quality architectural documentation, diagrams, and presentations for technical and business stakeholders
Provide hands-on technical leadership, ensuring design decisions align with best practices and security standards
Collaborate with development teams to understand codebases and support modernization from a hands-on perspective
Act as a thought partner to program leadership in shaping the transformation roadmap
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Solution Architect in large, complex enterprise environments, ideally within banking or financial services
Strong cloud architecture expertise (Azure and/or AWS)
Hands-on experience with migrating legacy, on-prem .NET applications to the cloud
Experience setting up foundational architectures and frameworks for large transformation or modernization programs
Background and experience in .NET development – must be able to read, write, and review code effectively
Confident communicator with the ability to lead discussions, present architectural solutions, and build consensus
