Our client, a leading commercial property management firm, is seeking a permanent Commercial Building Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical & electrical background and be comfortable managing preventive maintenance schedules, contractor work, and service requests. This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator looking to work in a professionally managed environment focused on safety, sustainability, and tenant satisfaction.
This is an on-site position located in Edmonton.
Responsibilities:- Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems, hydronic equipment, pumps, and plumbing systems
- Perform daily building inspections, safety checks, and BMS monitoring
- Conduct preventive and demand maintenance
- Coordinate with and oversee external contractors for building services and repairs
- Manage tenant service requests through the Angus
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and general building issues
- Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records
- Support energy management and sustainability initiatives
- Conduct fire alarm and emergency power systems testing
Qualifications:- 3–5 years of experience in commercial building operations
- 5th Class Power Engineering license or BES Certification
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, life safety, and plumbing systems
- Proficient in using Angus TR/PM and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
