Our client, a leading commercial property management firm, is seeking a permanent Commercial Building Operator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical & electrical background and be comfortable managing preventive maintenance schedules, contractor work, and service requests. This is a great opportunity for a skilled operator looking to work in a professionally managed environment focused on safety, sustainability, and tenant satisfaction.

This is an on-site position located in Edmonton. 

Responsibilities:
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain HVAC systems, hydronic equipment, pumps, and plumbing systems
  • Perform daily building inspections, safety checks, and BMS monitoring
  • Conduct preventive and demand maintenance 
  • Coordinate with and oversee external contractors for building services and repairs
  • Manage tenant service requests through the Angus 
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards 
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic electrical, plumbing, and general building issues
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection reports, and maintenance records
  • Support energy management and sustainability initiatives
  • Conduct fire alarm and emergency power systems testing
Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial building operations
  • 5th Class Power Engineering license or BES Certification
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, BAS, life safety, and plumbing systems
  • Proficient in using Angus TR/PM and Microsoft Office (Word/Excel)
  • Valid driver’s license required
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
