Senior Business Analyst

Contract: 1-year, full-time
Location: On-site in Ottawa–Gatineau 
Security Clearance: Secret


About the Role

We’re looking for a seasoned Business Analyst to join a national modernization project. You’ll support integration initiatives, help digitalize tools and working with multidisciplinary teams to drive significant defence impact.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead definition and documentation of business requirements, workflows, and decision processes
  • Analyze and optimize existing systems, data repositories, and procedural operations
  • Design interfaces between manual and automated systems, and across subsystems
  • Define acceptance test criteria and support validation/testing efforts
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback, ensure alignment, and manage change
  • Prepare monthly status reports detailing progress, issues, KPIs, effort, and financials

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field (recognized Canadian credential or equivalent)
  • 5+ years experience as a Business Analyst on large-scale ($10M+), government or public-sector digital transformation initiatives
  • Proven expertise in at least two of the following: process improvement, systems integration, change management, capacity planning, HR/resource planning
  • Eligible for Government of Canada Secret security clearance

Highly Regarded Experience

  • 12+ months experience with use case planning and KPI tracking/reporting
  • Experience migrating record repositories to SharePoint and using PM tools like DOORS
  • Certifications—minimum of four from the following:
    • Microsoft 365 Teamwork Admin, SharePoint, Azure Fundamentals, Power Platform, Power Automate, RDIMS, Qualiware, DOORS, etc
