Contract Type: Hybrid, 2 days per week in Toronto, ON.
On behalf of our public sector client, we are looking for an SAP HCM Specialist for a 6-month contract term position, with possible extension. This is a hybrid role, working in Toronto, ON.
Project Context:
Reporting to the Senior Systems Consultant, HRIS/Payroll, this role supports the optimization and maintenance of SAP HCM and HCM Security environments, ensuring effective support for the organization’s HR technology ecosystem. The position also provides strategic reporting solutions and drives continuous improvement in enterprise applications.
Responsibilities:
- Configure, create, and test SAP HCM programs, queries, and user exits.
- Investigate and resolve SAP HCM processing issues and provide client support.
- Generate and analyze SAP reporting requirements, including balancing and reconciliation for audits.
- Support the SAP Employee Expense Concur System.
- Assist in implementing bi-annual SAP Support Packages and relevant legislative/system updates.
- Manage the clone and test tools for HCM tables across SAP environments.
- Oversee HCM SAP Security, including validating user access and designing security roles aligned with organizational needs.
- Maintain SAP roles, authorization, and user access, ensuring compliance with security audits.
- Collaborate with user departments to define and address security needs.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Must-Have Skills and Experience:
- University degree in Information Systems & Design/Computer Science or related field
- SAP HCM certification, preference in SAP Payroll Module
- Minimum four (4) years of experience in SAP HCM environment with emphasis on SAP Payroll
- Proven experience with SAP HCM, HCM Security and Payroll business processes
- Proven experience in creating SAP HCM ABAP reports, SAP configuration and SAP queries
- Proven experience with SAP ECC 0 EHP8, HCM modules, ABAP, Payroll reporting and knowledge of SAP HCM concurrent employment environment
- Strong customer service focus with demonstrated skills in supporting users to assist in addressing issues and concerns
- Experience in leading the SAP Payroll mid-year and year-end support pack changes within the functional area
- Demonstrated project management skills and experience in SAP conversions and system upgrades
- Strong administrative, organizational, and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
- Strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving skills in SAP HCM environment focusing primarily on Payroll
- Effective time management skills to meet constant HR/Payroll deadlines and on-going system related reporting needs
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with strong leadership and mentoring skills
