Agilus is recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer III in the Oil and Gas Sector in a hybrid work environment in Edmonton, Alberta.
The Project Mechanical Engineer oversees the design of expansion and growth enhancement projects executed by Engineering service providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, specifications, processes and operational reliability requirements within project budget and schedule. They liaise with stakeholders to interpret key information for competitive solutions and successful project execution.
A typical day:
Lead the design review process with internal and external stakeholders ensuring regulatory code compliance
Manage the specification and requisition of materials by reviewing vendor materials quotations, evaluate technical bid evaluations and provide recommendation based on technical merit along with price and delivery. Collaborate with Supply Chain to procure material via internal tools.
Provide technical support during all project phases, including project development, construction, and commissioning.
Supports the development of the project scope, schedule, capital cost estimate, execution planning, risks and supporting information related to assigned facility projects during the project development phase.
Reviews lessons learned from past projects and incorporates recommendations into future designs
Provides support and assistance to peers and more senior staff in order to facilitate/lead business or department initiatives and legal compliance
Provide technical guidance to junior engineers within the team or others based upon technical expertise
Successful candidates will have:
Min 5 years progressive experience in Engineering system design and commissioning activities within Oil and Gas Industry
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
Professional Engineer designation
Proven planning, organizational, problem solving, decision – making and negotiating skills, supplemented with a practical aptitude.
Aptitude and communications skills related to acting independently as a professional engineer
Ability to resolve complex issues based on depth and breadth of technical and business knowledge
