We’re assisting our client in the search for an Accountant to join their Revenue Recognition team. In this role, you will be supporting the accounting processes behind complex commercial contracts with large enterprise clients. This role plays a key part in ensuring financial results are accurate, timely, and complete, with a focus on revenue recognition for specialized communication infrastructure projects in remote and strategic areas. This is a permanent role, 3 days a week in office in Montreal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the monthly financial close process including transactional reviews, journal entries, and variance analysis
- Partner with business unit leaders to understand the financial implications of new commercial agreements and client expansions
- Review and analyze complex contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment and ensure alignment with accounting standards
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, governance practices, and audit support documentation
- Assist in special projects, process improvements, and automation initiatives across the Controller group
- Identify and close gaps in reporting tools, data systems, and financial workflows
- Present financial insights and trends to support strategic decision-making
- Collaborate closely with finance peers, corporate teams, and stakeholders across the business
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
- CPA designation (or significant progress toward completion) required
- 2–3 years of experience in financial reporting or accounting roles
- Strong understanding of revenue recognition principles and ability to apply accounting standards to real-world scenarios
- Intermediate Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs)
- Experience with ERP systems such as S4 HANA is an asset
- Excellent communication skills—able to simplify complex financial issues for non-financial stakeholders
