Job Description:
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
This position is a Payband H.
Duties: The incumbent is responsible for providing academic support with primary responsibility as divisional Placement Consultant for JNA Campus. The incumbent is responsible for supporting the academic programs by promoting and securing practicum opportunities for students. The incumbent promotes campus programs generally and field practicum/placement opportunities specifically. The incumbent is the primary liaison between and among programs, faculty, students, employers and the college. The incumbent liaises amongst these groups as necessary to ensure the integrity of the practicum experience is maintained in a wide variety of programs and assists with the resolution of issues as required. The incumbent is responsible for all practicum-related documents and records. They would also play a role in student success initiatives.
Qualifications:
Post-secondary 2 year diploma or equivalent in Human or Social Services
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
Minimum 3 years’ previous experience facilitating student field placement and/or practicum experiences
Demonstrated knowledge of the process through which academic work is applied during practice
Experience working in an academic setting with the teaching learning process and application of learning
Familiarity with workplace safety requirements, WSIB, and Occupational Health and Safety preferred
Educational Credentials
