Agilus is recruiting for an Electrical Estimator in the Construction industry in Burlington, Ontario.
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Electrical Estimator, specializing in infrastructure or industrial projects, to join their team, . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems estimation, preferably in the automotive or transit sectors. This role is critical in supporting project planning, bidding, and execution by delivering accurate and competitive cost estimates.
A typical day:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for electrical systems in infrastructure and industrial projects
Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to ensure alignment on scope and pricing
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and competitiveness
Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses
Participate in bid reviews and support the preparation of bid proposals and tender submissions
Maintain and update historical cost databases and estimating tools
Conduct risk assessments and provide value engineering recommendations
Successful candidates will have:
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating, preferably in infrastructure or industrial projects
Experience in automotive or transit sectors is highly desirable
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office Suite
Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and construction practices
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
