Our client, a leading Health Care organization, is looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join their team on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is 5 days in office in North York.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full-cycle accounts payable process and contribute to month-end activities
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle Accounts Payable processing
- Review, code, and process 50–100 invoices/month from central invoice inbox
- Ensure accurate approval routing and entry into the financial system
- Maintain organized invoice records and support the bi-monthly payment run
- Reconcile vendor accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Assist with month-end close:
- Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, payroll allocations, etc.)
- Support monthly reconciliation of accounts
- Bring payable-related data into the general ledger and perform variance analysis
- Follow internal finance and healthcare-related policies and procedures
- Communicate with off-site staff as needed to clarify documentation and approvals
- Contribute to documentation of procedures and support ongoing process improvement
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of accounting or accounts payable experience
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related field (degree preferred)
- Familiarity with journal entries and month-end procedures
- Experience with an ERP system
- Intermediate Excel skills; comfortable working with spreadsheets and reconciliations
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
