Our leading social services client is seeking a seasoned IT PMO Manager to develop, implement, and oversee project management standards and governance frameworks across complex IM/IT initiatives. This role combines strong leadership with a deep understanding of compliance, governance, and delivery best practices, ensuring consistent execution of enterprise-wide programs. It can be filled on a 6–12 month contract basis or as a full-time permanent position, and is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities:
Establish and implement standardized PMO methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid), including tools, templates, and best practices.
Lead the governance and compliance functions of the IT PMO, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and industry frameworks.
Manage full project lifecycles including planning, execution, milestone tracking, deliverables, change management, and communication.
Conduct audits and reviews of existing project documentation and processes to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for IT governance and portfolio management.
Produce and present status reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
Lead project status meetings and ensure clear accountability for deliverables.
Oversee vendor and third-party relationships, including contract negotiation and management.
Support quality assurance (QA) and user acceptance testing (UAT) planning and execution.
Required Skills & Experience:
10+ years of experience within an IT PMO environment with a focus on governance, compliance, and delivery.
Proven track record in managing IM/IT projects such as system development, infrastructure, and security initiatives.
Strong knowledge of project management frameworks and tools (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid).
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess complex documentation and processes.
Demonstrated ability in stakeholder management, including facilitation, consensus-building, and communication.
Experience with policy/procedure development, portfolio planning, QA/UAT, and RFP development.
Expertise in technical and business documentation, budget administration, and personnel oversight.
Education & Certifications:
Diploma or degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum are strongly preferred.
