Altis Recruitment is proud to be partnered with a well-respected regulatory agency in Ontario to hire a Senior Inspector/Internal Auditor for their team.

In this role, you will be responsible for gathering and assessing information to determine the compliance of regulated entities with enforceable legislative and regulatory provisions. All inspection activities are conducted within a defined legal framework and adhere to established internal procedures for inspection and evidence collection.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and conduct complex inspections of regulated entities, performing follow-up inspections as necessary.
• Execute inspections in accordance with established protocols, utilizing effective procedures for evidence collection and analysis.
• Conduct interviews, engage in detailed discussions, and analyze information gathered from regulated entities.
• Collaborate with internal subject matter experts on regulatory policy, guidance, and processes throughout the inspection phase.
• In cases where a compliance issue proceeds to an enforcement stage, work closely with legal counsel to achieve a resolution.
• Serve as a subject matter expert during discussions with regulated entities regarding compliance matters and act as a witness in regulatory hearings if required.
• Apply risk-based methodologies and tools to assess and prioritize compliance issues.
• Prepare comprehensive summary reports detailing the findings and outcomes of inspection activities.
• Develop and maintain professional and positive working relationships with stakeholders at regulated entities.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in inspection, compliance, audit, or advisory services.
• A total of 8 years of progressive experience, including conducting audits or inspections within a regulatory environment.
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, perform effectively under pressure, and manage multiple competing priorities.
