Property Accounting Manager – Real Estate
Location: Onsite, Full-Time (5 Days/Week)

Our client, a well-established player in the real estate industry, is looking for a seasoned Property Accounting Manager to lead the accounting function for a diverse portfolio of properties. This role is ideal for someone who’s hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in navigating the complexities of property accounting.
What You’ll Do:
Manage the full-cycle accounting process, including general ledger maintenance, monthly/quarterly closings, and financial reporting
Prepare and interpret internal financial statements; communicate key insights to senior management
Work closely with property and operations teams to ensure accurate, timely financial data
Support budgeting and forecasting activities across a portfolio of commercial properties
Oversee lease-related accounting tasks, including CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations
Lead and mentor a small accounting team, fostering development and accountability
Coordinate with external auditors during reviews and year-end audits
Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows and strengthen internal controls
Take part in special projects and provide ad hoc analysis as needed
What You Bring:
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with some time spent in a supervisory or team lead role
A background in real estate or property accounting is essential, especially with CAM reconciliations
Strong proficiency with Yardi – this is a must
CPA designation (or working toward it) is a definite asset
Solid Excel skills and comfort working with accounting systems
Excellent communication and organizational abilities, with a collaborative mindset
Strong attention to detail and a practical, solution-focused approach
