We are seeking a dependable and experienced Property Accounting Manager for our client in the real estate sector. The successful candidate will oversee full-cycle accounting functions across a mixed portfolio, including financial reporting, team supervision, budgeting support, and lease-related accounting. This role requires strong knowledge of property accounting, CAM reconciliations, and hands-on experience with Yardi.
This is a permanent, full-time role based 5 days onsite. Candidates MUST HAVE proven experience with Yardi and a solid background in property or real estate accounting, including CAM reconciliation and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including general ledger, financial reporting, and period-end close processes
- Prepare and analyze internal financial reports and present key findings to leadership
- Collaborate with operations teams to ensure financial data is accurate and up to date
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts across multiple properties or business units
- Manage commercial lease-related accounting, including CAM reconciliations
- Supervise and mentor accounting team members, providing guidance and oversight
- Coordinate with external auditors and assist with required documentation
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support system enhancements
- Participate in ad hoc projects and other duties as required
Experience and Skills:
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, including team leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Previous experience in property or real estate accounting, including CAM reconciliations, is preferred
- CPA designation or in progress is considered an asset
- Experience using Yardi is required
- Strong Excel skills and proficiency in accounting systems
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
- High attention to detail, strong analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
